The opposition African Democratic Congress, (ADC) has assured Nigerians that it will abolish opaque “security votes”, slash the cost of governance, clamp down on the misuse and looting of public resources if elected to power in 2027.
The party also vowed to build a job-led and opportunity-driven economy anchored on shared prosperity, while eliminating monopoly and cronyism, strengthening institutions, and expanding access to economic opportunities for Nigerians.
The national spokesperson of the ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, presented the party’s governance principles and code of ethics, contained in a 25-page document “The Orange Book,’ at a press conference in Abuja
The draft obtained by AIT outlined the party’s proposed economic, political, and governance framework, with the ADC promising to make citizens’ welfare and well-being the central objectives of its economic policies
The national publicity secretary vowed that the party will build an efficient, transparent and accountable government, ensure prudent management of public resources, reduce the cost of governance, strengthen the independence of the judiciary, legislature and Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and enhance whistleblower policy.
Abdullahi accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of failing to deliver effective governance, alleging that Nigeria had under the ruling party been turned into what he described as a “Yoruba Nation.
ADC National Working Committee NWC members and other top party leaders across the country attended the occasion.
