The Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, Francis Fadahunsi, has been released by the Osun State Police Command, about two hours after honouring police invitation over his alleged “Kill Accord members” threat.

Senator Fadahunsi had honoured an invitation from the Osun State Police Command over a controversial comment attributed to him concerning members of the Accord Party ahead of the state governorship election.

Journalists were barred from the investigation room, a seperate building away from the office of the Commissioner of Police where the senator spent close to two hours under interrogation with the security personnel.

He was subsequently taken to the office of the Commissioner of Police, where he spent another 20 minutes before being returned to the CID.

Addressing journalists after his release, the senator said he honoured the police invitation and clarified the alleged statement he made.

The Nigeria Police Force says investigation is ongoing into an alleged inciting comment made by the Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, Francis Fadahunsi.

The Force Public Relations Officer,Anietie iniedu stated this at the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo while speaking with journalists.

Iniedu said the police would not tolerate any statement or action capable of disrupting the peace of Osun State before, during or after the August 15 governorship election.
