Nigeria’s Liberation People’s Party, LPP, is calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission to comply with an Appeal Court judgment which it says ordered the electoral body to officially recognise the party and issue its certificate.
The call was made at the party’s first National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja.
National Chairman Abubakar Dogara says the LPP expects to be accorded the same rights as other recognised political parties following the court’s decision.

The party leadership also urged members to strengthen its structures and unity as it prepares to contest elective positions in the 2027 general elections.
At the meeting, the LPP outlined a political agenda focused on what it describes as good governance, ending political exclusion and addressing economic inequality.
The party says the Court of Appeal ruled in its favour on June 2, 2026, ordering INEC to officially recognise the LPP and issue its certificate.
