The Benue State, Governor Hyacinth Alia has officially sworn in seven newly confirmed cabinet commissioners alongside key statutory board appointees in a major move to accelerate his administration’s development agenda.
Beyond the cabinet restructuring, Governor Alia also addressed rising public anxiety over the controversial national ranching policy, reassuring citizens that his administration remains people-oriented and will not support any mandate forced against the collective will of the state.
The Old Banquet Hall at the Government House in Makurdi was filled to capacity as political leaders, government functionaries, and well-wishers gathered for the inauguration.
Seven new commissioners—recently screened and cleared by the Benue State House of Assembly—officially took their oaths of office, signaling a targeted effort to boost institutional capacity across key state ministries.

Urging calm, the Governor doused public anxiety, reassuring citizens that no federal policy would be forced upon the people without their consent.
