The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has elected Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro as the new President of the union.
He was elected alongside other national executive officers at the association’s first Quadrennial National Delegates’ Conference in Abuja.
Olabiyi-Agoro takes over leadership from Festus Osifo, who completed a six-year tenure at the helm of the oil and gas union,
The new PENGASSAN leader brings more than 20 years of experience as a petroleum engineer and trade unionist in the country’s energy landscape.
Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro is an employee of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).
In his opening remarks, Olabiyi-Agoro promised to defend members’ jobs and aggressively confront the widespread practice of workplace casualisation and prolonged contract staffing across the industry.
