Goods Worth millions of naira destroyed in Warri inferno

Over one hundred stalls and shops containing goods Worth millions of naira were on Sunday destroyed at Ogbe- ijoh market located around Warri main market in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to sources, the fire started in the afternoon, when most of the shop owners were still at their various places of worship.

While the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, firefighter trucks have successfully contained the fire in some parts of the market.

At the time of this report, some soldiers from the three battalion Nigeria army, were seen keeping the crowd in check to avert a stampede and possible looting, as shop owners try to salvage what is left.
