The Joint Task Force North-West, under Operation Fansan Yamma, has rescued six abducted victims during separate operations in Kaduna and Katsina States.
In a statement issued by the spokesperson of the Theatre Command of Operation Fansan Yamma, Lieutenant-Colonel Aliyu Danja, the command said troops of Sector One, while responding to an abduction incident in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, sighted suspected terrorists moving with some victims.
The terrorists, on sighting the troops, abandoned the victims and fled in disarray. The troops subsequently rescued three kidnapped victims.
Similarly, in Katsina State, troops of Sector Two responded to a distress call concerning the abduction of civilians along the Dandume-Damari axis in Dandume Local Government Area.

The troops swiftly mobilised to the area and engaged the terrorists with overwhelming firepower, forcing them to flee into the surrounding bushes and abandon their victims.
The troops pursued the fleeing terrorists and subsequently rescued three abducted victims.
A black Volkswagen Golf vehicle belonging to the victims was also recovered.
According to the Theatre Command of Operation Fansan Yamma, the successes recorded underscore the operation’s efforts to protect innocent civilians, disrupt terrorist activities, and deny terrorists freedom of action across the operational area.
