Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has dismissed reports of a rift with his predecessor, Udom Emmanuel, saying political differences will not affect their relationship.
Eno spoke while commissioning 14.8 kilometres of internal roads and spurs in Udom Emmanuel’s home community of Awa, ONNA Local Government Area, where he urged residents to disregard what he described as false and unsubstantiated claims ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Governor Umo Eno says purveyors of falsehood should not be allowed to create a rift between him and his predecessor, Udom Emmanuel.
He described the project as special, being located in his predecessor’s home community, and said its completion was a mark of respect for the former governor.
The Governor said he would continue to respect and work with former Governor Udom Emmanuel despite political differences.

He also disclosed that 26 projects are currently at various stages of completion in ONNA, while assuring residents of more development projects.
He also announced plans for a tolling arrangement under which heavy-duty vehicles would contribute to road maintenance, while other road users would be exempted.
Works Commissioner Professor Eno Ibanga described the project as historic, while ONNA Council Chairman Kufre Umoren commended the Governor for the road and other projects in the area.
The 14.8-kilometre road project includes spurs and a 1.9-kilometre discharge drain.
