The Ondo State Government has certified 500 young artisans in various technical and vocational trades, as part of its efforts to boost employability, entrepreneurship and economic development.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa who made this public in Akure, the Ondo State capital, described the iniative as a major step towards youth empowerment and wealth creation.

The beneficiaries received free trade test certificates under a programme organised by the Ondo State Board for Adult, Technical and Vocational Education, in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Fasoranti, the Governor said the certification would give the artisans formal recognition and improve their access to economic opportunities.
Other speakers, including a representative of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, stressed the growing demand for technical skills and their importance to Nigeria’s economic growth.
AIT online Correspondent reports that the beneficiaries were trained in electrical installation, welding, automobile repairs, solar installation, plumbing and other vocational trades.
