The Federal Ministry of Youth Development is seeking to improve the delivery of skills, employment and entrepreneurship programmes to young Nigerians, with greater attention to implementation and coordination.
The priorities emerged from the Ministry’s 2026 Ministerial Retreat in Abuja.
The focus here is on closing the gap between government youth programmes and the young Nigerians they are designed to reach.
Officials and other stakeholders examined implementation challenges, coordination and ways of improving access to existing interventions.

The Ministry has programmes covering skills development, employment and entrepreneurship, but discussions at the retreat focused on how to improve their delivery and impact.
The Ministry says the outcome of the retreat will guide the next phase of its youth development programmes, with emphasis on implementation, coordination and measurable benefits for young Nigerians.
