Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, as head of Nigeria’s delegation to the Nigeria-Ethiopia Nutrition Leadership Exchange Forum holding from October 7 to 9, 2026.
On arrival, the Vice President was received by the Nigerian Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, AU, Nasir Aminu, alongside other officials of the Nigerian Mission and senior Ethiopian government officials.
He is attending the forum on the invitation of Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Temesgen Tiruneh, who is championing the country’s multi-sectoral approach to boosting nutrition.
During the visit, the Nigerian team will tour key establishments including a wheat farm and banana plantation in Oromia, the ‘Bounty of the Basket’ Training Centre, and Jabdu Motors in Bishoftu
The Vice President is accompanied by Governors Dauda Lawal of Zamfara and Umar Namadi of Jigawa, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, his Agriculture and Food Security counterpart, Abubakar Kyari, and the Director-General of NEMA, Zubaida Umar Abubakar.
