The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) says a recent opinion poll conducted across Nigeria, involving more than 6,000 respondents, shows overwhelming public disapproval of political parties fielding politicians facing unresolved corruption allegations.
The group urged political parties against fielding candidates whose unresolved corruption cases raised serious questions about public accountability.
While condemning the act, HURIWA urged the EFCC to ensure the Prosecution of Politicians Facing Corruption Allegations stressing that
where investigators have sufficient evidence to prosecute, they should proceed without undue delay.
