The Benue State Police Command has dismissed reports alleging the withdrawal of Mobile Police personnel from the Ayilamo community in the Logo Local Government Area, describing the claims as false.
The Command says Mobile Police personnel, divisional officers, and other tactical teams remain deployed in the area to maintain security and protect lives and property.
The police clarification follows a media report claiming that Mobile Police personnel had withdrawn from Ayilamo with their belongings, including an Armoured Personnel Carrier, raising concerns among residents over the security situation.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Orchia Peter Aondongu, said the report was misleading, insisting that security personnel remain stationed in the community.
