The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has won Saturday’s local government elections in all the 21 local government areas of Kogi State, North-Central Nigeria.
This follows the declaration and return of the election results by the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission, KOSIEC.
There are however complaints of missing electoral officials and materials in parts of Yagba West, which cast a shadow over the exercise.
This is as residents of Igbaruku in Iyamerin Ward and parts of Egbe in Yagba West LGA alleged that the absence of electoral officials and materials prevented them from voting.
Some election observers have called for greater transparency and improvements to strengthen public confidence in the electoral process.
With the results declared, attention now shifts to the inauguration of the elected council officials, amid complaints from affected communities.
