The Federal Government says Nigeria’s next National Development Plan must be realistic, measurable and implementable, with clear financing, responsibilities and timelines.
Speaking at the technical review of the 2026–2030 plan, Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, Doris Uzoka-Anite, said funding constraints, gaps between planned and actual capital spending, weak coordination and data limitations affected the implementation of the previous plan.
The representative of the private sector, speaking for the NESG, says the new plan must deliver measurable outcomes that Nigerians can feel, while carrying the private sector along.
The Minister says the plan must now translate Nigeria’s long-term development aspirations into practical interventions capable of delivering measurable economic and social outcomes.
