President Bola Tinubu has expressed condolences to the family of former Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, who has died at the age of 71.
In a condolence message issued on Monday, October 19, 2026, the President described Uduaghan as a dedicated public servant whose leadership focused on the development of Delta State and service to Nigeria.
Tinubu recalled that the late former governor served as Commissioner for Health and Secretary to the Delta State Government before being elected governor in 2007.
He noted that Uduaghan governed the state for two terms, leaving office in 2015, during which he pursued initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, healthcare delivery and the welfare of residents.
The President also acknowledged Uduaghan’s continued contributions to the state’s political and socio-economic development after leaving office, saying his death was a significant loss to his family, Delta State and the country.
Tinubu extended his condolences to Uduaghan’s wife, Roli, his children, cousin and former Delta State Governor, James Ibori, as well as his friends, political associates and other Nigerians affected by his passing.
He urged the people of Delta State to draw strength from the late governor’s years of service and the relationships he built across Nigeria’s political and social landscape.
The President prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased and comfort for all those mourning him.
