Nigeria to evacuate students stranded in Sumy, Ukraine on Tuesday

Few hours after dozens of Nigerian students at a university in Sumy, north eastern Ukraine sent out a viral “Save our Soul” for evacuation, the Nigerian government says they will be brought out from Monday.

In a tweet from his verified handle, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama however said the big challenge will be to procure buses, but added that the Nigerian Ambasador in Ukraine, Sina Alege is on top of the situation.

He had in an earlier tweet, said he had been in talks with his Ukrainian counterpart, Dymitro Kuleba, over a hitch free evacuation and modalities to achieve this, in a city already being shelled by Russian troops.
