Police in collaboration with the Nigerian Army in Katsina say they have repelled terrorists attacks on Barawa village in Batagarawa Local Government Area, capturing 6 of the terrorists’ operational motorcycles.

In a statement by the Police spokesman, Superintendent Gambo Isah, the incident occurred at about 7:30 pm when a distress call was received.

He added that a combined team of Police and military were mobilized to the area.

They engaged the hoodlums in a fierce gun duel and successfully repelled them.

Isah further said, due to the operational strategy and gallantry displayed by the combined team, the terrorists abandoned their heinous mission and fled from the scene.

The police spokesman added that, in the course of scanning the scene, 5 terrorists’ operational motorcycles were recovered and burnt by the team.

Isah said, many of the terrorists escaped the scene with gunshots wounds and urged members of the community to report to the nearest security formation, any person found with a suspicious injury.

Meanwhile, the Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Idris Dabban, has commended and appreciated the efforts of the personnel at repelling the terrorists, urging members of the public to continue to cooperate with security agencies, in the ongoing onslaught against terrorism in the state.
