The incumbent governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello has emerged winner of the November 16 election with 406,322 vote beating his closest challenger and PDP Candidate, Musa Wada who polled 189,704 votes.

The Candidate of Social Democratic Party, Natasha Akpoti came a distant third with 9,482 votes.

The result threw the Yahaya Bello’s supporters in his All Progressives Congress (APC), into wild jubiliation especially within the government house.

Speaking with AIT, Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja attributes the victory to divine mercies; stressing that it will provide the administration an opportunity to do more for the people of Kogi State.

Meanwhile, the Collation Agent for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Captain Joe Agada flatly rejects the election result describing it as a sham.

He said what INEC announced doesn’t reflect the election that held on Saturday; questioning how more than 60% of the results came from Yahaya Bello’s Senatorial District.

A total number of 1,646350 voters were registered for the election but only
636,202 were accredited for the exercise.

Yahaya Bello won the election earning a second term of 4 years in office from a Total
Vote cast of 624, 515.
