New Electoral Act will reduce High turn over of Lawmakers- NILDS DG

The Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman has said the new Electoral Act will go a long way to ensure that only credible people of substance and quality come into the legislature.

Speaking to journalists on the sideline of a two-day capacity building workshop for Non-academic staff of the legislative institute, Sulaiman expressed strong optimism that new Electoral Act will bring about changes that should drastically reduce the challenge of high turn over of lawmakers.

On the capacity training workshop, NILDS boss said the the institute working very closely with German Civil Liberty organization, Konrad Adenauer will sustain the training exercise aimed at enhancing the performance of staff.

About one hundred non-academic staff of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) are participating in the capacity building workshop.
