Elder statesman and national leader of the pan-Niger delta forum (PANDEF) Chief Edwin Clark says he has withdrawn his support for the presidential candidate of the Peoples’ democratic party, Atiku Abubakar, as well as the presidential candidate of the All-progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Clark who addressed members of the delta central APC leaders of thought at his residence in Abuja, says he is disappointed in the PDP, for choosing a presidential candidate from the north, just as he is also against the decision of the APC to have a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
According to him, the decision to produce a Nigerian president of southern extraction was a consensus, but he is surprised that some governors within the PDP decided to betray the region.
Clark expressed his disappointment with the decisions of the PDP and the APC on zoning and the choice of a running mate.
Aside from the discussions about the 2023 general elections, the Niger delta leader has another message for president Buhari, regarding the probe of the Niger delta development commission (NDDC) and its leadership formation
The NDDC has come under the spotlight in recent times, and with the forensic audit completed, many look forward to seeing the government take appropriate actions against anyone who is found wanting.
