The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has set ablaze a shrine and arrested a chief priest accused of vandalizing national assets in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State.
Also arrested were two undergraduates who participated in the alleged illegal activity and kept vandalized public property in their house during the endsars protests in Calabar.
Parading the suspects at civil defense headquarters in Calabar ,the State commander, Samuel Fadeyi, who was represented, of the NSCDC said the crackdown on public property vandals is still on and warned that it is only a matter of time before the law catches up with them.

He said the shrine was destroyed to send signals to those of the opinion they are above the law.
One of the suspects who confessed to the crime pleaded for mercy.
The NSCDC warned that the corps would leave no stone unturned to apprehend criminals who were in the habit of vandalizing public property, no matter their hideouts.
