Delta state Government has pledged to continue to lay emphasis on technical Education to tackle the high rate of unemployment
Delta state Commissioner for Technical Education, Shola Daibo who made this known while handing out employment letters to 518 teachers recently recruited for the three new technical colleges in Effurun, Asaba and Obiaruku warned the newly employed not to reject their posting to avoid the termination of their appointments.

According to the Commissioner, the 518 teachers mainly from the technical field will lay foundation for the three new Technical colleges built by Okowa Administration in Obiaruku, Uvwie and Asaba the state capital.
Out of the 518 teachers, 325 are teaching staff while 188 are non teaching staff including 3 physically challenged.
Some of the teachers expressed their readiness to contribute to the realisation of the state governments education policy
The teachers are expected to embark on a one week training exercise that will further prepare them for the tasks ahead.
