The coast seems to be very clear for the major opposition Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, to reclaim power in 2023 in Katsina State as the party has made moves to woo the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, political pillar, former secretary to the state government and governorship aspirant Mustapha Inuwa back to its fold.
This is as both the Governorship candidate Senator Yakubu Lado and the chairman of the party, Salisu Majigiri led other top members of the party including some of its candidates to discuss with Inuwa at his campaign office in katsina.
The move according to the PDP is coming as it perceives that Mustapha Inuwa has fallen apart from the APC arising from the conduct of the Governorship primaries which edged him out to favour Dr. Dikko Radda.
Ever since, it has not been well with Inuwa and the APC which many political watchers who described him as ‘Katsina political Maradona’ say will be a calculated ride for the APC to loose election in 2023 in Katsina.
At the meeting, the PDP Governorship candidate and leader of the delegation, Senator Yakubu Lado said, they have come to bring back Inuwa who was a former card carrying member of the PDP during the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua but left due to some personal interest.
Lado added that, being an ally of late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua who believes in human capital development and the vision of the late Nigerian leader, his wealth of experience is needed at this critical moment.

Chairman of the party, Salisu Majigiri expressed optimism that Inuwa will heed the cry of the PDP and return expressing hope that, they will win convincingly in 2023 if he eventually joins the opposition party.
According to him, “By God’s grace if he joins the party, we are going to have our complete 34 State Assembly members, 15 house of reps members, 3 senators, Governor and our Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, will win katsina in 2023”.
Responding to the plea by the PDP, Mustapha Inuwa acknowledged that he was once part of the PDP but said, when they get to the bridge of either dumping the APC, time shall tell.
He added that, the PDP is not the only party that has come to him as he has received others like the NNPP, Accord Party and others who came to seek for his political blessings and support ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Inuwa has been aggrieved since loosing out the Governorship ticket and has been reached out to by the APC Governorship candidate Dr. Dikko Radda as well as the Vice Presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima when he came visiting him recently.
The atmosphere was tensed during the visit as both Inuwa’s thousands of supporters as well as those of the PDP, await his final say on the way forward.
