The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State Chapter has raised alarm over what it says are continuous delay tactics employed by the Federal government in appointing a substantive rector for the Polytechnic.
The Chairman of the Polytechnic Lecturers, Moses Atilola who raised the concern during a press briefing at the Mini campus of the tertiary institution said the polytechnic is currently facing enormous challenges that only a substantive Rector can help surmount.


The Academic Staff of the Polytechnic also insists that if the issue is not addressed as a matter of urgency it could result into a full-blown crisis.

The Polytechnic lecturers have appealed to President Mohammadu Buhari to urgently appoint asubstantive rector to guarantee harmonious relations among stakeholders.
The Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State was established in 1992 during the administration of former president, Ibrahim Babangida and offers National Diploma and Higher National Diploma courses at undergraduate levels.
