The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority says the fuel queues being experienced are the result of unprecedented flooding in Lokoja, Kogi State, which has submerged a greater part of the city and grounded vehicular movement.
In a statement the Authority says this has affected the distribution of petroleum products to the Federal Capital Territory, and its environs and as part of measures to mitigate the situation, trucking via alternative routes is currently ongoing.

It assured the public that there are sufficient petroleum products inland warned against panic buying at fuel stations.
Marketers were advised to desist from hoarding the product and inflictiing hardship on Nigerians.
