The issue of multiple taxation will soon be a thing of the past in Benue State, North central Nigeria as the Joint State Revenue Commitee, JSRC has concluded arrangements to harmonise tax collection between the State and Local Governments.

At the JSRC meeting, Special Adviser, Bureau for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Kenneth Achabo said the harmonisation would ensure transparancy in revenue collection at the local councils.
The Joint State Revenue Committee meeting chaired by BIRS Chairman is a creation of sections 92 and 93 of the Personal Income Tax Law 2004.
