Nigeria’s under 17 women national team, the flamingoes have emerged the third best team at the 2022 FIFA under 17 women’s World Cup in India.
The flamingoes defeated their German counterparts four three on penalties in the third place match on Sunday to secure their first ever silverware at the cadet tournament.
But The Nigerian girls had to do it the hard way as they had to depend on penalties after given up their three goals lead in the regulation time.

With the victory Nigeria becomes the second African country with a silverware at the FIFA under 17 women’s World Cup.
The other African country with a silverware at the tournament is Ghana who won bronze in 2012.
