The united states ambassador to Nigeria Mary Beth Leonards and other critical players in the global health sector have called for the scale-up of HIV services, removal of structural barriers and discrimination of key populations in all countries of the world to end the Hiv epidemic by 2030.

Speaking at a forum to commemorate the 2022 World Aids day in Lagos, Mary Beth Leonards noted that about 38.4 million people continue to live with the virus as of 2021, with one point seven million being children.
