Edo Train Station Attack: Police rescue twelve more kidnapped victims

EDO TRAIN STATION ATTACK

More victims of the train attack that took place in Igueben Train Station, Edo State, have been rescued by the joint security forces in Edo State.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Mohammed Dankwara on Sunday.

The latest Victims, twelve in number, brings the total number of victims rescued so far to eighteen.

The statement which was made available to journalists by the police public relations officer Chidi Nwabuzor says the joint security forces, acting on technical intelligence on the kidnapped victims, stormed a forest at Ugboha and rescued the twelve victims unhurt.

The rescued victims are fifty-six-year-old Eunice Esieba, Twenty-eight years old Marian Mowoe, forty-two years old Faith Smart, twenty-eight-year-old Precious Egwuje, thirty-nine years old Obehi Omaben, forty-two years old Ann Benson, eighteen years old Akungo, forty-eight-year-old Akhimen Ehiemamen, thirty-three-year-old Christian Iyere, sixty-seven-year-old Emmanuel Esieba, twenty-five-year-old Iyoha Julius and forty-two-year-old Aguelle Beatrice.

Two staff members of the train station are however still in the custody of the Kidnappers.

The rescue of the victims was the effort so far made by police operatives, other security agencies, and the state government to free persons including passengers who were kidnapped at Ekekhen train station Igueben on Saturday, January 7, 2023.
