The crisis rocking the Enugu State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC took a turn for the worst on Wednesday when the State Executive Committee threatened to expel former Senate President, Ken Nnamani.

The Party leadership is accusing Nnamani and others of alleged anti- party activities, after a purported petition from unnamed members in his Local Government Area.

The State Secretary of the party, Robert Ngwu who read a communiqué to Journalists at the end of an emergency meeting, announced that Senator Ken Nnamani and the other accused Party members risked expulsion.

There has not been no word from the former Senate President who is seen as a leader and major stakeholder both in his Enugu State home chapter and at the national level of the ruling APC.

The All Progressive Congress in Enugu State has been deeply polarised since the emergence of the Ugo Agballah led State Executive Committee, pitching him against top Party leaders like the former Senate President, Ken Nnamani; Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama; Former Governor Sullivan Chime and Director General of the Voice of Nigeria, Osita Okechukwu.

Things came to the head when some prominent Party leaders in the State boycotted the recent campaign rally of the APC Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu in Enugu, as a protest for the continued stay in office of Agballah, demanding his immediate sack.
