The Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS, has arrested five hundred and sixteen illegal immigrants in possession of Permanent Voter Cards PVCs in Zaria, Kaduna state.
Comptroller of the service in Kaduna Liman Killa, disclosed this while parading the immigrants in Kaduna.

Kella said that it is an offense for non-Nigerian to be in possession of the PVCs.
The comptroller noted over one thousand illegal immigrants were also apprehended with the majority of them from the Niger Republic.
The immigration authorities further explained that illegal stay in immigrants poses a huge security threat in the country, especially with the elections around the corner.
