Gunmen Attack Ayade’s Chief Of Staff On Calabar- Ugep Highway

Some unidentified gunmen suspected to be kidnappers, have attacked the convoy of Governor Ben Ayade’s Chief of Staff, Martin Orim along Calabar-Biase- Ugep Highway on Sunday.

The Akampa- Biase -Ugep axis of the highway has become a hotspot for kidnapping activities with vehicles often being attacked by hoodlums.

Orim was said to be coming from obudu to Calabar after he attended an official function, when his convoy was attacked by hoodlums.

Orim who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said everyone escaped the attacked unhurt, aside some of the convoy vehicles that were hit by their bullets.

The attack on Orim is the second in high profile case in the last two weeks after the convoy of the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party and former minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Usani was attacked around the same area.

Police sources said the Security operatives have deployed team of tactical operations to the area.
