The Abia State Panel of Inquiry on Police Brutality, Extra Judicial Killings and Other Related Matters, has promised justice to those whose properties were affected during the 2020 #EndSARS protests in the state.
Chairman of the Panel, Retired Justice Sunday Imo made the promise when members visited Degema and Ngwa road areas, in Aba South LGA, where houses were allegedly burnt by the Police in 2019.
He said, until the petitioners’ and the respondents’ evidences are reviewed, conclusions will not be drawn by the Panel.

An eyewitness, Harrison Uchechukwu, alleged that it was a fracas that broke out between the Police and some suspected drug peddlers in the area, that led to the killing of a policeman and a subsequent retaliation attack by the Police, resulting in the burning of buildings in the areas.
