The Abia State Government has approved the construction of 19 rural roads across the State.
In a statement by the Commissioner for Information, John Okiyi Kalu, the State Executive Council gave the approval following the recommendation by the Finance and General Purpose Committee.

According to the statement, the State Executive Council also approved the deployment of modern electronic and digital technology to monitor security structure at the state’s major boundary communities, by the Ministry of Homeland Security.
The statement further states that an Inter-ministerial Committee has been set up to review the Abia State Bio-Refinery Project.
