Out of the N13.6 trillion appropriated in the 2021 budget for Nigeria, 6.3% was allocated to education.
This development speakers at the education financing workshop say is grossly inadequate. Government was therefore challenged to engage more with the private sector for additional sources of funds to better the country’s education.
Nollywood actress, Hilda Dokubo and other speakers say, the absence of government officials at the event, further confirms what they describe as Nigerian authorities lackadaisical approach to improving on what they also describe as the country’s dwindling education fortunes.
