The Accident Investigation Bureau, (AIB) says it has begun a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash of Bell helicopter 206B3 with registration number 5N-BQW operated by Quorum Aviation.
The AIB in a release said it was notified by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, (LASEMA) of the accident at about 12.30 PM on Friday, August 28th, 2020.
The helicopter was said to be coming from Port Harcourt to Lagos when it crashed into two residential buildings on 16/16A Salvation Road in Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos.
Three passengers were on board with 2 fatalities and one person hospitalized.

The General Manager of LASEMA , Femi Oke-Osanyintolu who led other agencies to the crash site said the team arrived at the accident site as soon as it received the distress calls.
The owners of the two buildings and a resident in the building narrated the horrific incident that shook the premises to the ground.
The wreckage of the helicopter has been removed from the crash site and taken to the AIB office.
Meanwhile operators of the helicopter, Quorum Aviation said they have informed the AIB and the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, (NCAA) of the accident and now await the outcome of the Investigation.
