Damaturu, the Yobe State capital will soon have a unit of the Airforce, flying its Flag there.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar made this known during a Sallah luncheon he had with officers and men of the Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole, in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
Abubakar who had lunch with the troops to boost their morale says, the hosting of his officers and men during festivities has become a culture, since he assumed duty in 2015.
He says the Airforce Unit to be established in Damaturu, would enhance the task of tackling the insurgents in the area.
The Air Chief explained that the Unit will have a refuelling facility to ensure that their aircraft do not necessarily go back to Maiduguri to take fuel

He adds that, in the last 5 years, the Airforce has had a manpower disposition increase, by about 11,000 personnel.
He reminds the men to maintain the protocols of COVID -19.
Borno Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum as Special Guest at the lunch thanks to the Airforce, for its support to the people of the State, especially in the areas of health and education.
Governor Zulum, also seeks the support of the Airforce for farmers, especially now that the rainy season is setting in.
