The Federal Government has commended the role played by the members of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, in the emergence of Ambassador Bankole Adeoye as the next Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security in the African Union Commission.
The commendation is contained in a statement by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ferdinand Nwonye.

According to him, the Federal Government appreciates all the 54 Heads of State and Government of African States for the overwhelming support and the resounding victory of the Nigerian candidate.
