Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has given the Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo 2 weeks to appear before the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Party or face suspension.

The warning came on the day the ruling Party in Anambra State announced the suspension of all its Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates for next Saturday’s Local Government Area elections in Anambra State.

Briefing Journalists in Abuja, the National Chairman of the pyarty, Edozie Njoku said the action was taken by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Party over their alleged anti Party activities.

Governor Soludo of Anambra State is the sole governor elected on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), but a protracted internal leadership crisis earlier resolved by a judgement of the Supreme Court, is still lingering.

APGA said a Disciplinary Committee has also been set-up to investigate the allegations of anti-party activities and acts of gross misconduct levelled against the affected members, and make recommendations to the NWC of the Party.

ait.live gathered that APGA as the ruling Party in Anambra State, has fielded candidates for the positions of Chairmen and Deputies in all the 21 LGAs and the Councillorship candidates in all the 326 Wards, as published by the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) for the Local Government Areas Council elections coming up on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
