The Association Of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, ASCSN has raised alarm over plot by the integrated payroll and personnel information system, IPPIS, in the office of the Accountant General of the Federation to deny 17,000 federal workers from September payroll.
At a briefing in Abuja ASCSN President, Tommy Etim revealed that there is evidence that the IPPIS office has “criminally” included names of non core civil servants, politicians and their aides to government payroll since 2015.
ASCSN President has however appealed for calm among civil servants as the union will follow up the development at the IPPIS office and office of the head of civil service of the federation
Etim said trouble started in 2015, when the head of service set a monitoring team to ascertain those due for retirement, among other issues.

He said a lot of circulars were released and it was agreed that verification should be largely online.
The senior civil servants said they are not contemplating any withdrawal of service, but the IPPIS, the office of accountant General and the Head of service, should do the needful to avoid any form of industrial unrest.
