No amicable out of court settlement was reached between lawyers of both Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU and the federal Government as advised by the appellate court.
The matter has been stood down by the three-man panel of judges led by Justice Hamma Barka for one hour to enable counsel for ASUU, Femi Falana react to the counter affidavit served him by counsel to the Federal Government James Igwe.

As it stands, the notice of appeal by ASUU against the interlocutory ruling by the industrial court on September 21, 2022 will be heard by the three-man panel.
ASUU has been on strike since February 14 to press home demands for improved funding for universities, a review of salaries for lecturers, and other lingering issues.
