Bandits in their numbers have reportedly launched a fresh attack on Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State abducting the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chairman, Yushau Dissi and another person.
The incident, which occurred Saturday night according to a source in the locality, hinted that the bandits also sent threat messages to the Head of Administration of the Local Government Council, Danliti Matazu, urging him to make available N3 million for ransom in three days.
According to the source, Matazu and Musawa Local Government Councils have been facing serious security challenges in the last one year which had resulted in the brutal murder of the Village Head of Fafu, Dikko Usman, while several people including women and children were also kidnapped.

Although the police in the State is yet to respond officially to the incident, calls put through to the Special Adviser on Security Matters to the Governor, Ibrahim Katsina, to confirm the alleged demand of N3 million ransom by the bandits were not picked or returned as at the time of filing this report.
