Five farmers were attacked and killed by suspected bandits in a fresh attack on Yantaba village in Malumfashi Area Council of katsina State.
The brutal attack came less than 48 hours after a similar attack was launched on Daulai village of Safana Area Council where one person was killed and 7 women abducted.
The attack was as barely a week after three farmers were killed by bandits in Dandume Area Council.
The farmers were killed in the early hours of Thursday morning when the bandits stormed the village on a reprisal attack to revenge the alleged killing of 3 members of the gang by some of the community members.
Confirming the incident, Spokesperson of the Command SP Gambo Isah said, the bandits stormed the village at about 3:00 am; shooting sporadically.
Isah added that, “Police officers from Malumfashi Division rushed to the village and rescued those injured.
He however called on the citizens of the State to stop taking laws into their hands by arbitrarily attacking herdsmen.
