The Police in Katsina State have confirmed the abduction of the village head of Radda Community in Charanchi Area Council of Katsina State, Kabir Umar.
The incident was said to have occurred when suspected bandits launched a fresh attack.
Police spokesman, Gambo Isah, confirmed the incident to ait.live.
One local source who pleaded anonymity said, the suspected bandits numbering about ten stormed the residence of the traditional ruler at about 2:42 am, early Friday morning, shot his younger brother, Aminu Umar, before abducting him.

He said the bandits came to the town on motorcycles and started shooting sporadically, asking the people the location of the residence of the village head.
He said, few minutes after, they heard his younger brother shouting for help.
The Police say they have launched a search for the abducted victim.
Radda community is the hometown of the Director-General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, SMEDAN, Dr. Dikko Radda.
