Veteran Nigerian boxer, Bash Ali’s push to realise his dream of becoming the oldest world champion in the sport has received a boost.
It is coming after respected Nigerian-born promoter and expert, Stanley Williams sensationally declared that the prize fighter has what it takes to prevail over any opponent despite his 64 years of age which many believe places him at a disadvantage against younger opponents. “Looking at Bash’s physique, I see a boxer who is working a lot to maintain the level of fitness needed to deliver”.
Speaking in a virtual interview with ait.live, Williams went on to elucidate the dynamic and underlying recipe for success in the noble art of boxing, saying in critical moments you need more than brute force.
Williams whose outfit, Monarch Promotions manages Nigerian world champions Davidson King and Sulaimon “Tyson Kill” Olagbade as well as British-born Pakistani Tasif Khan among others, said if realised, Bash Ali’s dream will rub off positively on Nigeria. “We will see how we can help him,” he concluded.
