At least 3 confirmed cases of Lassa Fever has been reported in Bauchi State, while 15 other suspected cases are under investigation.
Chairman of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Rilwanu Muhammad disclosed this while briefing newsmen in the state capital.
He says the major challenge being faced by the Agency is the rumour that Lassa Fever has claimed many lives in the State.
Dr. Muhammad says only 3 confirmed cases of Lassa Fever have been recorded with no deaths.
He says one of the main concerns is the rate at which people are dying of renal failure, which the State Government is taking giant steps to address.
He calls on the people to remain calm and report any suspicious cases of Lassa Fever, and avoid contact with suspected victims
