The Nigerian Guild of Editors, NGE, has given the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, thumbs up for his commitment to infrastructure development and for improving security architecture of the state.
The NGE, in a joint statement issued by its President, Eze Anaba, and Secretary-General, Iyobosa Uwuguarien after a tour of projects embarked by the current administration in Bayelsa state, commended Governor Diri’s performance in the last three and half years in office.
It was a two-day extensive tour by the President and members of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, of ongoing and completed projects embarked upon by the Governor Douye Diri’s administration in Bayelsa state.
Their first places of visit were the Yenagoa/Oporoama road, transport terminal, AIT Elebele Outer ring road, Finance house and the Zipline Drug distribution facility.
The team again headed out on the second day, this time to inspect the ongoing construction site of the Nembe/Brass federal Road, being constructed by the state government,the rice farm in Ogbia LGA, dual carriageway Glory Drive and the Ernest Ikoli Media Complex.

The Editors finally paid a courtesy visit to the state’s Chief Executive Officer at his country home, Sampou, where the President, Eze Anaba spoke on their findings
In his remarks, Governor Diri reaffirmed his desire not to politicize developments in the state, stressing that his administration will always pay attention to what is best for Bayelsans.
The visit of the Nigerian Guild of Editors to Bayelsa is in fulfillment of the function of the body to hold government accountable to the people.
