The Bayelsa state coronavirus index case and 2 other patients have been discharged from the niger delta university teaching hospital treatment centre at Okolobiri.
Permanent secretary of the state ministry of health, Inodu Nathaniel-Apoku who broke the cheering news at a media parley in yenagoa also announced governor Douye Diri’s approval to extend the lockdown of the state’s land and sea boarders for another one week.
Nathaniel-Apoku who is also the Co-chairperson, state Covid-19 task force believes in the gains of prevention and early detection while building capacity to manage the spread and intensify efforts that in line with world health organisation guidelines.

The commissioner also called on the media to fight against the prevalence of fake news in the state.
