A 6-year old boy has been admitted at the Federal Medical Centre, FMC Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital following a suspected case of Lassa Fever.
The State Commissioner for Health, Pabara Igwele and the Head of Department, Community Medicine, FMC, Anthony Eguvbe told AIT, that the patient has been placed under close surveillance while waiting for the laboratory test result to confirm or allay their fears.

Bayelsa State has been on the list of states in the country with no record of Lassa Fever casualty since its outbreak.
However, this is a twist to the tale as the suspected case of the 6-year old boy is under close surveillance at the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa.
